The Hanged Man

How unfortunate is
The hanged man
On the scaffold!
He can’t move
His legs an inch
He can’t stretch or fold
His luckless hands
Anything to hold!

How unfortunate!
He can do nothing
To alter his state
He’s condemned
To suffer alone
His endless fate
For his release
There isn’t any date!

How unfortunate!
He has been paying
Some Karmic debt!
Loaded on him by
Something or someone
Dishonest and deft!
He has no way to know
How much of it is left!

On Golgotha yore
There was another tree
O brother mine
Upon the cross
the one who shed blood
was the Son Divine
He can free you truly
And keep you in his shrine!
