Children of Greater Gods

Wonder how they are born
With golden spoons
In their pouty mouths
Wonder how their parents
 Promise fourteen moons
When they blow their horn!

Wonder why they are gifted
Though they are like me
In every respect orphaned
They are declared equal
But are “more equal” to see
From the loveless line they are uplifted!

In the classrooms of thirty-five
They are more specially seated
Teachers sing a sweet tune
While speaking to them
With graces they are treated
As the royals in the hive!

There is gradation, we’ve heard,
Among the gods of heaven
Some possess greater powers
While some of them lesser
We are children of lesser den
They‘re children of a greater Lord!
