Rats! Rats!! Rats!!!

Rats!

About them

There is an old story

A shopkeeper borrowed

His neighbor’s weighing instrument

And didn’t return it to the owner for many days

When his neighbor asked him about it one day

He made an evasive excuse, “Rats have eaten it up!”

Who would believe?

Rats!!

They have eaten up

Many of my precious articles

In the years I am in this charity house

Clothes, bags, books, pens, pencils, socks, shoes

More recently, tester, screw driver, stapler, pen drive!

Their sharp teeth have scraped gaping holes in my wooden bed

And in my poor pocket!

Rats!!!

There are many

In and around this holy place

With intentions greedily unholy

It’s their habit, their nature, their hunger

The Creator Himself has given them such teeth

That can bore through wood and even steel safes!

Is the good Master aware of such boring machines in his office?

Will any Pied Piper descend some day to lure away these nasty teeth?

Well, that’s an old story!
