Speak sweetly, if you do, speak words sweet
Sweet words soothe and harsh words
beat
Hurt the hearts, to blood they tear
and injure
The wounds they
inflict no balm ever can cure
Speak sweetly,
learn from the cuckoo and crow
In the garden of
our life together they show
Both wear black
but the cuckoo does itself endear
One assaults ears
while the other spreads cheer
Words have mighty
power to break and to build
They can kill as
well they can from death shield
Our tongue can
give life it can spew poison too
Out of heart’s
fullness one speaks, saying is true
Speak sweetly, if
you do, before uttering take care
A godly gift
you’re given in accord you must fare
You will receive
your due in the world, it’s sure
Your treasure will
multiply or you will grow poor.
