Why does the cuckoo cry
in the silence of midnight?
Is it a call for lingering light,
or is it her aching heart’s sigh?
To coo it's not a good time
it's not a moment to call..
for the mate, let the morn fall.
This song has no rhyme.
Has your soul mate gone far?
Has it flown to other trees?
Has he left you to lonely seas?
Betwixt him and you is there a bar?
Cuckoo dear, let your song flow,
my heart is awake to hear,
with crying souls to be near.
And wait for the dawn to glow.
