The Burning Bush is All Around Us

The Burning Bush is All Around Us
By Xavier Bage, 19th Nov 2013 | Posted in Wikinut>Writing>Poetry
Moses met God in a burning bush. The burning bush is all around us. We often fail to see it. Instead of taking off our shoes and bowing before the divine presence we get busy in picking wild berries.

Take off your shoes

The earth is crammed with heaven
It is there where you stand,
You needn’t fly to the furthest sky
It is in every bush on the land.

While he tended a flock of sheep
Moses found a bush on fire,
He went closer in curiosity
The reason to find and enquire.

A voice told him to take off his shoes
For it was God’s hallowed ground,
It was there he found his mission
To free his people in Egypt bound.

The world is crammed with heaven
And burning bush is everywhere,
Some take off their shoes and bow
While others pluck wild berries mere.
