Fathers never stop loving their
children. The child finds his father's caring presence always near him.
They Only Transform and Stand
Fathers never go away
They only transform and stand
Not too far nor too near
Ever ready to lend a hand
They are burdened with
Duties on the earth
With a failing or two
Natural to human birth
They only transform and stand
Not too far nor too near
Ever ready to lend a hand
They are burdened with
Duties on the earth
With a failing or two
Natural to human birth
But once they lay aside
Their temporal attire
They turn into only love
Never to rest never to tire
They watch but don’t intrude
The privacy of the child
They whisper their advice
In voices sweet and mild
You can see them returning
From their place of toil
Tired and thirsty for home
To lift a son from soil
The child grows up and he
Gets children of his own
But his heart always looks
For the warmth he’s known
There he stands, my dad
In the winters falling dew
He smiles and melts in air
Silently saying, ‘I love you’
But I know he will be back
To stand next to a thought
Fathers never go away
They find us when sought.
Their temporal attire
They turn into only love
Never to rest never to tire
They watch but don’t intrude
The privacy of the child
They whisper their advice
In voices sweet and mild
You can see them returning
From their place of toil
Tired and thirsty for home
To lift a son from soil
The child grows up and he
Gets children of his own
But his heart always looks
For the warmth he’s known
There he stands, my dad
In the winters falling dew
He smiles and melts in air
Silently saying, ‘I love you’
But I know he will be back
To stand next to a thought
Fathers never go away
They find us when sought.
