Ain’t I luckier than a king
To wake up to sweet singing
Of songbirds every morning?
Ain't I more fortunate than a royal
To be served by the rays of the sun
And enjoy the pleasures the winds bring?
I have drunk heavenly contentment
Day after day, night after night
Blessed moment after moment
The hills, the rivers, the green
trees
The golden snow, the glow worms
The festival of light in the
firmament!
A prince I am with fortune rare
Living in limitless luxury and joy
And not a kingdom to care
Not an enemy at the border to
fight
And not a rebellious
worry in sight
Haven’t I got the most
fortunate share?
