Deepon the Lamp, Blown out by a Silent Storm

He had a light temperature

When he stepped out of home

To board the school bus that morning

His mother asked him

A mobile phone to take along

He refused saying he’d be fine

The boy of seventeen was brainy

And he loved to do what

He thought was right for him.

He returned home from school

And was taken to the family doctor

Who prescribed paracetamol

For that’s what he felt was needed

The boy hated the smell of medicines

But he was ordered by the doctor

To regularly intake his tablets

Which the boy did faithfully

but the fever refused to respond

He was taken to the Army Base Hospital

As his father is a past army employee

The hospital set the treatment process

Prompt and dutiful that befits the army

The blood test showed no infection!

No positive sign presented

The doctor perceived the case was critical

To the Command Hospital

He must be ambulanced soon

The hospital with the most efficient of faculty

And the best of equipment applied

Its knowhow and capacity to heal

The dear son of an army man

But while all country was celebrating

The feasts of joy with fun and frolic

Deepon, the lamp was blown out

By a silent storm in his brain

Leaving his sweet home and

His mom’s and dad’s hearts

In pitch darkness!
