He Robbed Me of My Lawful Part

He robbed me of my just right

Yet the chosen one he became

How could it be in God’s sight?

In His Hallowed Holy Name?

My brother, the twinned one,

How I loved him true in heart

My own mother’s beloved son

He stole away my lawful part!

His father is father of mine

Of one womb we were born

Yet his fortune rose to shine

While my inheritance was torn!

Obedient I was to father’s will

From the time I received a mind

While I was seeking it to fulfill

He was turning a tricky grind!

He conned Laban in the north

My mother’s close kin sanguine

And made own wealth grow forth

But wasn’t imputed crime or sin!

He’s to be king upon brothers

His name set to go down history

I till my dry land while he thrives

Elohim, your will to me is mystery!

I submit to your omniscient vision

Let your will be done on earth

You execute your loving mission

Employing our moan and mirth!

The Deluge is Approaching

The deluge is approaching
I was told by a heavenly voice
But what could I do at all?
I have nothing you call choice
I am left with only one option
Wait fatalistically for the fate
To fall on us; ingest us to the deep
To digest us and to defecate!

We built no boat like father Noah
A hireling ferryman we did employ
Who is hoped to sail us to safety
What will a worker for wage enjoy?
He will expect his coin every time
And whenever apt would claim more
At the approach of the tsunami
To save our souls will he be afore?

By choosing evil, instead of good
The eternal forking when present
We stepped to the petty path when
To our lowest leanings we bent
The deluge will be upon us sooner
Than later, hear the nearing roar
There’s no redemption anywhere
For the condemned in the core!

Whither Drips the Sweet Honey

Who siphoned my dear money?

I don’t know, I don’t know!

Whither drips the sweet honey?

I don’t know, I don’t know!

All the sums and subs I dissect

It’s correct, it’s correct

All the paper work, I check

It’s perfect, it’s perfect

Don’t you smell anything funny?

I can’t show, I can’t show!

Do your eyes suffer from cataract?

Can’t they perceive the hard fact?

Like an African mammoth it stands

Is the wise head buried in sands?

Is it covered with grain gunny?

Make no row, make no row!

Mine and me are superbly fine

If one wants to swallow or dine

Goats and lambs live on grass

They can never be a tabled class

Make your hay when it is sunny

Otherwise who on earth can grow!

Jealousy if you wish you may feel

I’m getting my well-planned deal

Let the dollars drop here or there

I darn care, it’s right and fair

Planets halt not their journey

You can only tow, can only tow!

'Why is the King Parading Naked?

The propped up demo king
Has been haughtily parading
On the wide royal road
Drumming up his assumed success
At each occasion with gaudy excess
He is ever in showy mode!
Wearing his medals on pompous chest
Displaying them around, people miss lest
Crowding both sides in load!

His face fills the TV screens
Channels are singing him hymns
Print media stands in valet dress
He is enthroned by countrymen
He thinks it was his own acumen
Has charmed the people and press
Has gladly put on his head the crown
His dumb arrogance is amply shown
Sufferings abound under crushing duress!

Intelligence and bureau are so superbly laid
To utter a whisper lips are afraid
By ideological folds many are blind
All around rises cheering noise
As the showman steps in grandiose
A child stands at the fence behind
Whatever the media and agency claims
‘Mummy, the king is naked!', he exclaims
The innocent saw the truth, others couldn’t find!

Blood in the Brook

Oh Mahua, my dear sister Mahua,

Why did you enter the forest?

Of all the options under the sky

Did this seem to you the best?

Many a times as curious child

you had been to the nearest wild

To watch the uncommon birds

And strange flowers on bushes!

What pulled you to live there?

Surely, it was not to find rest !

What prompted you to carry a rifle?

Was it to play normal childlike trifle?

What pulled you to sleep under trees?

What turned a village belle into wolf?

Visiting in darkness only to find food?

Tho’ poor we are, our hut is our nest!

Oh, those tender feet and hands!

What dragged them to rugged lands?

Whatever taught you to lay mines?

What made you trigger killing blasts?

What taught you to handle bombs and

Filled violence in your angelic chest?

My brother, a sister can you forgive?

Village didn’t remain a place to live;

For me, after the villain violated me

The arrogant son of the moneyed man

to avenge myself I needed power

and the forest embraced me with jest!

It was a silent half moon night

When the CRPF sneaked in might

The fiery encounter beside a brook

Reddened the pure water flowing

With blood from bulleted comrades

Mahua, amid them in the death fest!

Oh Mahua, my dear sister Mahua,

Why did you enter the forest?

Of all the options under the sky

Did this seem to you the best?
