She trudges to work everyday
The lone woman invariably on the way
She is an employee in the home for the aged
A lean figure with head bent
With silent sadness her face rent
Why, can you say?
With her no husband
walks down
Perhaps she doesn’t have one to call her own
No child is seen following her
Perhaps she has no children as well
Probably she is a widow, who can tell
What burdens she carries on her crown?
O sister, won’t you tell your life’s story?
Surely there was a time of your glory!
You must have had happy moments sometime
Surely you knew a man’s love for you
Surely the kind God sent you some rain and dew
We all have days happy and sorry
May your heart know God’s light
To joyful morn may He change your dark night
Even to dry bones He
gives new life
In past He manifested
his power, He’ll again
He can take away your sorrow and pain
Receive His touch; get healed by His might.
