A Sunday Morning Hymn

Sunday morning up with the songbirds
The eastern horizon smiling in rays
A day to join in hymns of God’s praise

Take your whole being, take your life
Your joys and sorrows in your palms
Carry your offerings joining in psalms

Receive His blessings, receive His peace
Your doubts and questions in Him can rest
He is the truth and He knows the best

It’s a day, a gift of love from the Father
It’s a day He has in His mercy made
To be with Him and hear what He said

Wedding Wishes to a Foster Daughter

Wish you a Happy New Life on this day
A new foundation as you lay
May our Most Loving Father bless you,
And on your husband shine His ray
On both of you rest may His kind hand
As you embark on journey to a new land!

Happy New Life, daughter dear,
Wish you with my prayers most sincere
You are the same you yet not the same
May you receive blessings and cheer
As you walk this path together hence
Of new being and new experience!

This road has many bends
Naturally, high and low to be it tends
Smooth the road may seem sometimes
Next moment to jitters it sends
Trust in God who always cares
For all of us have our shares!

When your boat sails over waves
You may pass some unknown caves
Let nothing dismay you or disturb
Patience is a virtue that saves
May guidance and support in need
Come to you from friends in word and deed!

Come Out of the Valley of Death

What is that poker with holder
You’re carrying on your shoulder?
O dear boy, tell me, is it a toy?
If it’s a fun serving plaything
It surely has an ominous ring
It bellows angry fire like dragons
A terror of a noise does it employ!

O son, to some army do you belong
Who in caves and woods throng
Training to be in love with violence
To be an aspirant, human blood to spill
To be killed gladly and joyfully to kill
For justice and peace of their own kind
Have you truly grasped their sense?

Those tender shoulders would be right
For carrying books with wisdom light
Those feet for sprinting in sports ground
The unlimited your curious eyes seek
Let your heart hear the words birds speak
Who’s caged your mind in narrowness?
Leave the well to feel the universe around!

O child, come out of the valley of death
You are precious, precious is your breath
Live your life to the optimum potential
You have just one gift, waste it not
On airy doubtful dreams, paste it not
Hold the hands of goodness and live
Heavens wish you happiness full and real!

Death Worship

Torn torsos, blood splattered
Glass shattered, lives scattered
It’s blasted worship of death.
Humankind’s twisted mind
Though seeing he’s blind
He expels poisoned breath

 Nations, countries, continents
All bloodied by evil intents
The Mother Earth cries in pain
In games her sons slay
hold guns and bombs to play
In vain falls all her restrain.

It’s not God, not religions
Killers are unlawful denizens
With blatant brute force
It’s a hurtling downhill fall
None responds to the warning call
Destruction is only course.

Return O man, to simplicity
Return to values of humanity
To ponder stop a while
You live and let others live
In justice you take and give
On Mother’s face bring smile.

The Heartless Dictator

You know and you can bet
The moon is a satellite
It never was, never can be a planet
I’ve read it in the geography books
Of my school days
And irrefutably right it looks
 in the meager astronomy
with which my lay mind plays

That it has mountains
rising to its airless sky
It has no snow or rains
Into its enormous lakes
No rivers rush and flow
The dead sphere never wakes
No trees and plants
on its plains ever grow

Its mother is the earth
It hasn’t left her apron string
Since its remote birth
Though it has grown to be
A potent aggressive bully
For all intelligence to see
It smiles and laughs without end
A beauty can be a beast truly!

Rightly do the astrologers inform
“The moon is your ruling planet.”
The tides of my life conform
Every new or full moon night
The rise and fall, the joys and pains
To the depth and the height
From three hundred thousand
The heartless dictator reigns

The bard is a moonchild
Sensitive and born to care
Sharply intuitive, yet lovingly mild
Lifting hands and inspiring voice
Leading, guiding, godly sense
Happy to mourn and rejoice
O fair orbiter, rule if you wish
The universe bows to the almighty Presence.
